This is our journey; 10 Medical Student with passion to learn and change lives; The lives of our adapted community. Yet, what is striking the most is how our lives are starting to change. We embark on this journey, leaving behind all the good things the city life could offer; to help in all the possible ways we could and to develop our skills enough to be a competent doctor that is aware of the conditions we are facing in the community. This journey would help us nurture our compassion to those who are in needs, uphold their moral and ethical rights, and provide the services of a competent physician that we could offer right now as medical student. Above all, it is the establishment of a relationship with the community that is more than enough to attain our vision and mission.
We aim to bring into being Barangay Delusom, a community that attains the state of sustainable development at its level; Development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs; development that with its own resources would cater greater rooms for improvement while meeting the current needs of the people. As agent of change, we would empower the people of Delusom, that in their own way they could sustain their needs at present without compromising the improvement of their lives in the future.
With these, in our way, we uphold the Ateneo de Zamboanga University School of Medicine’s Vision and mission in our community, that is responsive to the changing patterns of health care development and the needs of these communities and is sensitive to its social and cultural realities. We are here to help Barangay Delusom in providing solutions for all the problems that affects their quality of life. It’s a mutual relationship that yields learning for us Medical students and hope for better future for the people of Delusom.
